Background
2-Ethylhexyl-4-dimethylaminobenzoate is a PABA derivative that is used as a sun-screening agent. Of the PABA group it is the most commonly used agent in sunscreens marketed in the United States. It may also be found in cosmetics for skin, hair, and nails such as moisturizers and lipsticks and lip balms.
