Keratoacanthoma centrifugum marginatum (
giant
acanthoma) is een zeldzame variant van een keratoacanthoom. Er
ontstaat een hyperkeratotische tumor, in korte tijd net als bij een gewoon
keratoacanthoom, die in snel tempo naar alle
kanten uitbreidt, heel groot kan worden, en een atrofisch centrum achterlaat.
Keratoacanthoma centrifugum marginatum werd voor het eerst beschreven door Miedzinski
en Kozakiewicz in 1962. De oorzaak is onbekend, genoemd worden UV-expositie,
roken, carcinogene stoffen, trauma. Keratoacanthoma centrifugum marginatum gaat
meestal niet spontaan in regressie, in tegenstelling tot klassieke keratoacanthomen.
